We are delighted to invite you to a fourth sector executive roundtable at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2020 in Davos,

“Putting Purpose in Global Value Chains: Leveraging For-Benefit Procurement to Advance Stakeholder Capitalism and the SDGs."

By invitation only.

THE RULES FOR BUSINESS ARE CHANGING

PURPOSE  •  STAKEHOLDER CAPITALISM  •  SUSTAINABILITY  •  SDGs

About the Session

The rules for business are changing rapidly. To succeed in the next decade, global companies must prioritize purpose and adopt practices that substantially mitigate the social, environmental, and economic risks and impacts in their value chains.

At the same time, on current trajectory the world will fall very short of meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. Bold ambition and speedy response are required to mobilize trillions in private sector investment.

Both of these imperatives can be met by leveraging corporate and public procurement to create demand for for-benefit businesses—companies that prioritize people and the planet alongside profits.

This interactive roundtable discussion will explore the opportunity of harnessing procurement power to scale for-benefit business models across global value chains to systematically improve sustainability performance, advance stakeholder capitalism, and deliver solutions across the entire range of SDGs.

It will bring together senior leaders from government, business, finance, and civil society, including C-level executives across multiple industries, senior government officials, global sustainability and supply chain leaders, and leading experts on new investment and business models to explore this transformational practice, with a view toward identifying opportunities for collaborative action.
